The latest release of RSVPMaker provides more flexibility for how you display event listings, providing event-specific variations on the WordPress Query Loop block.

The modern WordPress editor allows web pages and blog posts, as well as entire website designs, to be assembled from "blocks" -- visual components that provide context-specific controls for different kinds of content (paragraphs, headings, and images) as well as layout elements (columns, rows, and navigation menus). The Query Loop block is a visual representation of the database query that retrieves a series of posts, wrapped around a Post Template that contains placeholders for the elements to be displayed for each post. RSVPMaker now provides blocks you can place within the Post Template to control the placement and formatting of the event, title, excerpt, and RSVP Now! registration button.

In the examples below, the listing on the left is presented in a single column with a featured image below the title. The one on the right uses the Cover block to display the featured image in the background, with the title and event date in the foreground. The color and alignment of the button also have been changed.

These techniques incorporating the Query Loop improve on the RSVPMaker Upcoming block, which provides fewer formatting controls. The RSVPMaker Query Loop variation provides pre-set options for the Query Loop and a few additional sidebar controls.
